In a forthcoming research study conducted by Neufeld Legal P.C.,
it was identified that approximately fifty-four percent (54%) of current
National Hockey League (NHL) All-Stars are seeing a portion of their
legitimate commercial rights and revenues being siphoned away by the
improper and illegal actions of unaffiliated third-parties, who are
profitting at the players' expense. Whereas correcting such impropriety
is possible (with limited time and cost), it remains largely
unrecognized and/or there is a failure to act. In turn, many NHL hockey
players are losing out on commercial revenue that is rightfully their
own. For professional hockey players seeking to inquire about their situation, contact us (this study shall not be publicly available). |

HOCKEY PLAYERS AND BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS Optimizing your best interests in a commercial partnership or joint venture that is entered into between a professional hockey player and his business partners. Whereas the initial presentation of a business partnership or a joint venture may appear to be extremely lucrative, the sad truth is that many such commercial arrangements are destined to fail. Either they are unrealistic in their financial expectations or they heavily weighted against the hockey player. As such, the hockey player could find himself putting considerable time and his professional reputation in favour of a commercial partnership that only really benefits the other partners to the deal. This is definitely not what any hockey player wishes to do, as it is not unprofitable in its own right, but it can also prevent you from participating in the right business partnership. As such, you need to insure that the partnerships / joint ventures that you contemplate entering into are thoroughly vetted prior to your making any commitment whatsoever. And in this regard, it is important that you have legal counsel that understand how such arrangements will actual operate and what the true expectations are. For when a professional athlete is approached for purposes of a business partnership, the presentation will invariably be full of wild expectations and promises, from which you need to be able to ascertain what can be realistically attained. At Neufeld Legal P.C., we are in the business of deconstructing contractual arrangements and explaining the essence of all the legal 'mumbo-jumbo.' For is with such an understanding that you are capable of making better decisions as to potential partnerships and how the contractual arrangements should be modified to better protect your interests in such a venture. For more information on how we can be of assistance to your business partnerships and joint ventures, contact lawyer Christopher Neufeld at Christopher@HockeyLawyer.ca or 416-887-9702 (Toronto, Ontario) / 403-400-4092 (Calgary, Alberta). |
